Larissa Naismith
Senior Clinician, Mental Health Accredited Occupational Therapist.
Larissa is a Mental Health Accredited Occupational Therapist with a Masters in Counselling and one of our Senior Clinicians.
Larissa has experience in a variety of adolescent, adult and older people mental health settings in the private, public and not for profit sectors. As a Clinical Mental Health OT and Counsellor, Larissa draws on a range of psychological and OT evidence-based strategies, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness practices and Sensory Integration.
Larissa has a special interest in working with clients who have experienced trauma and is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and a range of other psychological interventions. Larissa also has extensive experience working with young people and enjoys the creativity and flexibility that can be had while working with young people and their families. She also enjoys working with clients from a diverse range of ages and presentations, including people experiencing anxiety, stress, grief and mood disorders.
Larissa has worked across various places within Australia, but now calls Tasmania home. In her spare time, Larissa is a dedicated rock climber, and has climbed all over the world. She enjoys surfing and the beautiful outdoors lifestyle that Tasmania has to offer.
