Hannah Dawson

Trained in the UK, Hannah (She/Her) moved to Tasmania with her dog in 2022 and joined The Crawley Clinic Launceston team in 2023. She is fully registered as a forensic psychologist in both Australia and the UK, and is a board approves supervisor.

As part of The Crawley Clinic team, Hannah provides therapeutic treatment and assessments for individuals presenting with mental health challenges, developmental disorders, trauma, and personality difficulties. She is also available for consultation with other mental health professionals working with at-risk offending populations.

Hannah has experience providing assessment and treatment for individuals in both secure and community settings. Her clients have included those with major mental illness, personality difficulties and developmental disorders. She has accreditation in the use of ACT and CFT, and provides individual and group therapies with CBT and DBT-informed approaches. Since 2021, Hannah has offered consultation to practitioners working with personality disordered / high risk clients on Forensic/Correctional Orders.

In addition to her clinical forensic work, Hannah is experienced in psychological assessments in a range of areas including assessment of general and violent offenders, cognitive assessments, capacity evaluations, and assessment of issues relating to Family Court proceedings.

Hannah has undertaken research focusing on non-offending partners, personality assessment, and adverse childhood experiences. She has published in relation to both offenders and victims, and whilst studying for her first degree, she gained criminological experience working as an Appropriate Adult for Youth Support Services and supporting prisoner rights with the Independent Monitoring Board (IMB) in the UK.

In her spare time, Hannah enjoys exploring Tasmania with her dog, Charlton, catching a cricket game, and sampling the local eateries and vineyards.
