Barbara Hill

Psychologist

Barbara (she/her) is a registered psychologist, who studied at the University of Newcastle in NSW. Barbara moved to Tasmania in 2022 and now is proud to call Launceston home.

Whilst studying, Barbara held roles as a caseworker in family support and youth services and has extensive experience supporting families and children. Barbara’s first role as a provisional psychologist, was with an NDIS service, providing counselling, assessment and behaviour support. Since moving to Tasmania, she has worked as a school counsellor, providing counselling and assessments to children and young people.

Barbara is passionate about supporting parents in their journey of raising resilient children and also enjoys supporting children through their own journey when life gets tough. She is also dedicated to supporting people from all walks of life to work towards living their best lives and is interested in the role that lifestyle choices can play in managing stress, and the impact that modern life has on individuals and families. Barbara’s therapeutic approaches include Cognitive Behaviour therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), and Schema therapy.

Outside of work, whether it be kayaking, hiking, camping or looking for the southern lights, Barbara takes every opportunity to explore the amazing Tassie outdoors or visit her awesome family back in NSW.

Barbara is available to provide face to face appointments in our Launceston office, or via telehealth.
